Donkey refuses to let go of fire-fighter saviours after escaping forest fire

Gratitude comes from unexpected places. And when you are least anticipating it, you are going to be showered with it. If you thought that we were the only species capable of this emotion then you got it all wrong.

A certain donkey in Arizona is quite aware of this human sentiment and decided to overwhelm the fire-fighters who were trying to tackle a nasty forest fire situation. Here is a story that is going to amaze you and make you think twice before you call some a ‘Donkey’ again.

Escaping to friends

What do you do when you have come out of a forest fire and see the men who are trying to save your living habitat? Thank them of course. That is exactly what this donkey did after it emerged alive from the fire in Arizona.

It was a 7000-acre land that caught fire, near Lake Havasu City. The fire-fighters were familiar with the donkey coming over as many of this species live in the area. However what was quite uncommon is the donkey absolutely refused to leave their side. It almost understood where help was coming from and showed his gratitude by not letting go of their side. 

1. The ‘never leaving your side’ story

The fire-fighters said that most of the donkeys in the area are ‘skittish’ but somehow this one was a class apart.  There was no denying that it understood its safety well and decided to stick to the ones that seemed as saviours. The men in yellow were pretty much amazed with this strange behaviour but appreciated it nonetheless. The entire crew seemed to enjoy his presence.

It is unknown whether the donkey is from a farm considering his unlike nature from the ones in the wild. No matter the case, it sure seemed to enjoy the attention that the men showered. Amidst all the death and destruction, the fire-fighters were sure relieved to see a situation where a single life brought so much joy.

Even though the donkey has been taken to safety, if there is no owner to claim it, the American Wild Horse Sanctuary will come forward to take care of it and provide a safe home.  It is happy ending for the donkey for sure and the fire-fighters got a new ray of hope with its presence. 

2. And of course it is wearing the merit cap as well.

The donkey quite possibly never missed a chance to be with his new friends and made sure that each moment counted. The pictures are proof of what an amazing time he had with his new company.

Well, it is safe to say that this is one lucky animal, which escaped death, made new friends and is also on the verge of getting a new home. Forest fire is indeed something that can’t be controlled every time but seeing life emerge out is glorious and rewarding at the same time.

Shaking off winter chills with cool donated sweaters

It makes absolutely no sense to fill up your closet with those old winter clothes that are really not going to fit you anymore. Nonetheless most of us keep it just to take a look at it and remember the times when the clothes had actually fit us. Why not make it useful and donate it to places where the sweaters will actually be of some help. The Washington County Animal Shelter has taken up this provision and is helping the shelter dogs tend to the cold winters.

A pure initiative  

Clothes that are being donated have come of great help and are being used by the shelter in innovative ways for sure. If you are wondering how that is being made possible then it is quite easy.  The staffs make sure that it is being provided by the utmost ease.

1. Fighting the cold

The shelter lacks a heater and this makes it difficult for the dogs to take in the cold. However the donated sweaters are helping a lot and if you have some at home, then it is time to get those out and provide it to the ones who really need it. The dogs are let out to play and this is the one time when the clothes help a lot. Moreover the outdoor cage is really cold and also lets the chilliness inside when left open. Efforts of the Washington County Animal Shelter are being appreciated by many. 

2. The grand sweater

Kissing winters goodbye!

According to the shelter staff, one big sweater can actually be used to create 3 different dog sweaters. All the dogs are thus provided with the much needed warmth required during the cold chilly winters and there is no doubt that it is one of those efforts that are making lives change for sure.

With 100 dogs waiting for adoption, there is usually a need to keep them warm and people are coming forward to appreciate the efforts made by the shelter. If you are wondering what it takes to be a dog in a sweater then you can simply visit the shelter and take a look at it yourself. There are several more around the world that needs such help and if you have clothes to spare then maybe it is time you take the effort and start donating some clothes for good. 

3. Fluffy sweaters

The cute little ones are doing their best here and flaunting your sweaters. Hence you can take out all the old winter clothes that you are never going to wear and make good use of them. No matter the size, just donate the clothes and you might just see your neighbourhood shelter dog wearing one of your bright red Christmas sweaters and looking absolutely adorable.

Take up the initiative and provide something meaningful to an item that is just taking up the closet space in your home and doing nothing needful by just hanging in there for years to come.

A tribute to a friend: Denali and Ben Moon

The recent trend of couples to adopt dogs rather than human babies, have had quite a mixed reaction from the world all over. Some are appreciating it thoroughly and some are quite astonished at the move and do not know how to react. No matter what is being said or thought, it is quite possibly one of the revolutionary moves from which you understand that there is no greater joy than to love someone else, be it a human or a dog. The change has brought out a general positivity and has been changing the lives of several rescue and shelter dogs that so far had been away from love and company.  

Several stories are there that will encourage you and make you believe in the goodness of life. However there is particular account that is going to inspire you to the core.

There is no denying that a dog is a man’s best friend and Denali proved it alright. Ben Moon created a tribute for his late dog and it is nothing short of great. It is going to bring tears for sure and also make you believe that there is still some hope left in the world. The video has been the apex of several awards and film festivals. Hence you can already understand that there is nothing ordinary about Denali and his extraordinary journey with his favourite person. 

1. A love so pure

Several scenes and adventures have been highlighted in the video where there are moments that are going to make you cry with joy. Sadness and despair is a constant and the video brings out exactly what these two friends faced together, the good ones and the extremely unpleasant ones as well.

Denali stayed with Ben through one of the darkest phases of his life. The time when he was struck with cancer, Denali never left his side. He was there on the hospital bed as Ben slept. What Ben felt towards Denali was more than just love. It was respect, gratitude and a whole lot of emotions that flowed through him.

There are several pictures on Instagram of the two of them together enjoying vacations and having a gala time with each other’s company. It is almost disheartening to see them being separated. Understanding the importance of what Denali meant for Ben is the most important thing here. 

2. Moments of togetherness

Once you take a look at the pictures, there is an instant love that you will understand. It is undeniable and the emotion that both have for each other is beyond what can be imagined. Going through the darkest times and emerging out of it, takes a certain sense of courage and admiration that both Denali had and Ben have towards life and love. This is what makes the story so special and nerving. 

3. Cherishing the good times

All you need is to take a glance at the pictures and understand the connection. If you have a friend as such waiting for hours to cuddle you, then shower the love they deserve and treasure the moments forever.

Making way for a better life: Rescued dogs from Israel

While you are making plans to go to the dog shelter, chances are that you are not going to come across a situation that Danielle Eden faced in Israel. Coming across one of the most distressing shelter places, she could not decide which dog to adopt. Instead giving into her caring nature, she took in all of them and provided a sanctuary where there will be no more fighting for a piece of bread or living with dead and live rats.  

1. Choosing was never easy

Being the Co-Founder of Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary, Danielle has seen many dog shelters in her life, but hardly has witnessed such plight. The dog sanctuary in Ontario has been the safe haven of several dogs all across the world. Some have been rescued and some have been brought in from dire conditions to have a better life.

Describing the Israel shelter was almost like visiting it again and for Danielle it was not a pleasant experience to describe. Almost 250 odd dogs were living in a place that is meant for 75 of them. The mud, dirt, water and rats were another issue. The unhygienic environment and the constant lack of food made most of the dogs sick, weak and almost dying. The situation was worse when a loaf of blood as flung at them. Brawls over food were a constant daily routine. 

2. The dire conditions

The Ontario home

Out of the 250 dogs, around 25 of them have found their abode in the Ontario’s 50 acre dog sanctuary. More than 90 of have been relocated in several parts of Israel with much better conditions of life. The rest 150 are being taken care of by a specialised team who has taken the responsibility of making the shelter a habitable place once again. With proper food and hygiene conditions, there is hope for the ones who are beginning their life there.

The end goal is to make sure that all of them are brought back to Ontario and taken care of. Till now the efforts have bore fruits and more than half of the ones who were brought to the dog sanctuary have been adopted. There is no doubt that the entire team of Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary has made brilliant efforts to make few lives better than what it ever was. 

3. The happier side

Most of the dogs have been nursed back to proper health and are being treated for the severe conditions they had been exposed at. Let’s hope that that Ontario gets to see of all of them together and happier.

There are several places as such that are undiscovered, where shelter dogs are sharing the same unpleasant conditions. It is time we take a look at the plight and take an initiative to do the same that Danielle did. She continues to search for shelter places, rescuing dogs and nursing them back to the prime of their health.

Love sleeping? Of course you do! The super market cat is back again! And more determined indeed

Cats are known to be territorial, moody and surely extremely resilient. If it wants to cuddle, it will make sure to get it. No matter if you are in the shower or halfway through the midnight sleep! It gets what it wants and you are bound to give it. Known for their aloofness yet care demanding nature, you are sure to come across some that have pretty strange fetishes. Whether it is for toy ducks or a pair of sock or anything else that amazes them, it is sure to become a problem for you. If you want the same thing, you really are not getting it. Well, you can kiss your favourite Christmas socks goodbye! It is now the property of your fluffy little feline friend.

Now you might think that it is an everyday struggle for you to remove your cat from the bed or from the water basin, then wait till you get to know about a certain fluffy kitty, who absolutely refuses to leave the super market. He is interested in shopping and in you too.

Loving the market shelves!

You don’t want to deal with cat anger, especially after you have removed him from his favourite abode. While you might think that it is the soft cushioned bed or the basin, you are totally wrong. It is the grocery store shelf! Yes, this particular cat has been visiting the Brockley Sainsbury supermarket and his favourite place is the market shelves of course! It is a daily routine that he follows every day. He walks right in, makes a place for himself in between the shelves, or on top of them and stares at passersby’s’ and fellow shoppers.

Every day the schedule is the same. He is taken out by the security staff time and again. However this does not affect him much as he walks back in again. Hence proved, that he is an ardent grocery shopper indeed. Shoppers at the Brockley Sainsbury supermarket come across him almost every single day. The internet posts have already gotten popular and he was even named as ‘Animal of the Week.’ Apparently he lives in the neighbourhood but is just as curious about daily shopping needs like most of us.

The next time you hop into the market to get some beans, you might come across this fluffy and angry yet incredibly adorable cat doing the rounds of product shelves. Do not make the mistake of removing him, because he is walking straight back in, once again. Well, he just wants to shop as you do. So there is no point arguing with a shopaholic cat. 

2. Pretty cosy indeed!

Least to say, the supermarket staff are quite familiar with his daily routines. But somehow can’t manage to find a way that will keep the ‘shop cat’ at bay. 

3. I am getting in again, anyways!

If you have been dealing with this fury creature for long, then you must already know how adorable they can be. Cats have a world of their own and irrespective of whether you shower them with love and food, they are going to be just fine on themselves. However the occasional tickles and cuddles will do just fine! Love them, dislike them but you can hardly ignore those stares that will come from the starry, watery eyes.
